Mariners are advised that on 18 October 2021, CMAL will take ownership of the damaged special mark unlit beacon established at the end of the old Fish Quay at the entrance to Largs Harbour, Largs Bay, Firth of Clyde, and contractors will commence works to replace and upgrade it with a lit lateral beacon.
Weather permitting works are scheduled to be completed within five days and will be undertaken from the shore between approximately one-hour before to one-hour after low tide.
To ensure the Fish Quay remains marked during all stages of the works a lit special mark buoy will be temporarily established at the end of the structure.
While the harbour will remain open to all vessels during this time, mariners are requested to take care while navigating through the entrance.
Once works are complete an NTM will be issued with the details of the new AtoN.
