NTM 72/20 LOCHALINE FERRY BERTHING AREA DEBRIS REMOVAL UPDATE
Latitude | 56º 32.223′ North (WGS-84 datum) |
Longitude | 005º 46.497′ West (WGS-84 datum) |
Mariners are advised that weather permitting further works to remove the remainder of the post-construction debris from the ferry berthing area will be undertaken at Lochaline Ferry Terminal, Morven, from 30 November 2020.
Works will be undertaken by a barge with a long-reach excavator assisted by a dive team who will operate from the slipway and pier structure. Flag A ‘Diving Operations’ will be displayed at all times when divers are in the water and when displayed the pier will be closed to berthing by all vessels. The Master of the workboat and the dive supervisor will maintain communication as required via VHF radio throughout the period of the works.
Work is expected to be completed within 2-days and will be undertaken between scheduled ferry services to avoid any disruption.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Lochaline Ferry Terminal during this time are requested to do so with caution, maintain a lookout for the workboat and A-flag and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
