Mariners are advised that, weather permitting a visual inspection of Castlebay Ferry Terminal Pier, Isle of Barra will be undertaken on 25th and 26th September 2017.
CMAL’s consulting engineers Arch Henderson will be operating from the pier deck and from a small workboat. It is anticipated the inspection will be completed within two days
The consultant’s supervisor will liaise with the Port Manager to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services. VHF channel 16 will also be monitored.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Castlebay Ferry Terminal during these dates are advised to maintain a look-out for the workboat, proceed with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
