NTM 43/17 Installation of Pontoons, East Loch Tarbert, Isle of Harris
Mariners are advised that contractors will be installing pontoons and floating attenuator within the inner harbour of East Loch Tarbert, Tarbert, Isle of Harris.
Weather permitting works are scheduled to commence on 14 August and be completed by 28 September 2017 and will be within the area bounded by joining the following points.
57° 53.84’N 006° 48.22’W : 57° 53.86’N 006° 48.19’W
57° 53.82’N 006° 47.98’W : 57° 53.78’N 006° 48.05’W
During this period works will be undertaken using a workboat and at times will also involve commercial diving projects.
The contractor’s supervisor and any dive supervisor will liaise with the CalMac Harbour Manager and ferry Masters and will monitor VHF channel 16 to ensure there is no disruption to the scheduled ferry service.
All diving operations will be planned to be undertaken between ferry sailings and at all relevant times Flag A will be displayed.
During the period of works mariners navigating within or approaching the inner harbour are advised to maintain a look-out for workboats and any A Flag being displayed, proceed with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
