Latitude | 56º 32.223′ North (WGS-84 datum) |
Longitude | 005º 46.497′ West (WGS-84 datum) |
Mariners are advised that following the end of ferry terminal redevelopment works, from 10 July 2020 contractors will be completing the dredging operation at Lochaline Ferry Terminal, Morven.
Weather permitting works should be completed within 3-days and will be carried out by a long reach excavator from on board the MV Jenna J.
Completion of the dredging will be followed by a bathymetric survey and mariners are advised to maintain a lookout for a small vessel operating around the slipway and pier structure over one day at some time during week commencing 13 July.
Masters of both vessels will maintain a radio watch on channel 16 and all works will be undertaken between scheduled sailings of the CalMac ferry to avoid disruption to the service.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Lochaline ferry terminal during this time are advised to maintain a look-out for the dredger and small survey boat, proceed with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
