NTM 35/20 – TIREE FERRY TERMINAL RESUMPTION OF OLD PIER REPAIR WORKS
Latitude | 56º 30.634′ North (WGS-84 datum) |
Longitude | 006º 47.932′ West (WGS-84 datum) |
Mariners are advised that contractors George Leslie Ltd have recommenced repairs to the ‘old’ pier structure and fendering at Gott Bay Pier, Tiree Ferry Terminal, Isle of Tiree.
Weather and coronavirus restrictions permitting works are scheduled to conclude by November 2020.
Throughout this time scheduled ferry services will continue operation from the main pier linkspan berth, but mariners should be aware that the old pier continues to be closed to berthing by all vessels. This will be strictly enforced throughout the period of the works.
A small safety boat and modular pontoon will be in use and when required works will also involve commercial diving projects.
During any dive projects, the contractor’s supervisor and the dive supervisor will liaise with the CalMac Harbour Manager and ferry Master. At all relevant times when a diver is in the water Flag A will be displayed and VHF channels 12 and 16 will be monitored.
Until further notification informing harbour users that works have concluded mariners navigating near to Tiree Ferry Terminal are advised to maintain a look-out for workboats and any A Flag being displayed, maintain a safe distance and pass at minimum speed to reduce vessel wash.
