Complete NTM 28/21

Mariners are advised that contractor George Leslie Ltd will be undertaking snagging works on the new linkspan and the outer lifting dolphin fendering at Gourock Ferry Terminal, Gourock Bay, Firth of Clyde.

Works will commence on 29 March 2021 and are planned to be completed within 5-days.

During this time scheduled foot passenger ferry services will maintain operations from the new steps structure, but mariners should be aware that the linkspan will be closed to berthing by all vessels. This will be strictly enforced throughout the period of the works.

Civil works will also be supported at times by divers operating from a dive support vessel berthed alongside the linkspan lifting dolphin or quayside. An A-Flag will be displayed at all times when divers are in the water. The Master of the dive support vessel and the marine works supervisor will maintain VHF communication with any nearby vessels on channels 12 and 16.

During the period of the works mariners navigating near to or in the vicinity of Gourock Ferry Terminal are requested to do so with caution, regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash and stay well clear of any dive support vessel when an A flag is being displayed.
