NTM 26/16 Dive Project in Support of Brodick Ferry Terminal Reconstruction Works
Mariners are advised on Friday 26th February 2016, dive contractors Shearwater Marine Services Ltd will commence a dive project at Brodick Ferry Terminal, Isle of Arran to:
- Survey the existing ferry terminal pier and causeway;
- Survey proposed locations for new pier piles;
The dive team will be operating from the dive support workboat ‘Stroma A’ and the project is expected to last one day.
At all times dive operational working areas will be appropriately marked using Flag A “Diving Operations” with dive operations being undertaken between scheduled ferry services to ensure there is no disruption to service. The dive team supervisor will liaise with the harbour manager/supervisor and ferry Masters and will monitor VHF channel 16.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Brodick Ferry Terminal are advised to exercise vigilance and pass at minimum safe manoeuvring speed and sufficient distance from the dive site to reduce the risk of damage or injury being caused by the passing vessel’s wash or displacement.
