DEMOLITION OF BRODICK OLD PIER
Mariners are advised that the deconstruction and demolition of Brodick Old Pier at Brodick Ferry Terminal, Isle of Arran will recommence on 5th June 2023.
The demolition project is to be undertaken using a crane on a barge, see below and another small hopper barge. The barge is CW-6 and will be towed into position by the tug Coastworker who will display all appropriate signals and lights during operational periods and will maintain a listening watch on VHF CH16.
The three lit special market buoys Fl(4)12s will be returned to their original positions to mark the seaward limits of the working area within which the demolition works are taking place.
The works are scheduled to take six weeks and during this time all vessels navigating in the vicinity of Brodick Ferry Terminal and the Old Pier are requested to maintain a look-out for the buoys and barge, proceed with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
Unless otherwise promulgated, information regarding the current status of NTMs can be found at https://www.cmassets.co.uk/harbours/notice-to-mariners where, if the NTM is still marked as ‘Active’ it is still in force.
