Mariners are advised that on or about 18TH June 2024, the Coastguard will be conducting landing point assessments in and around Oban Bay. This will include landing within CMAL Statutory Harbour Area and potentially utilising one of the linkspans.
Weather permitting the work is expected to be completed within the day. The work will be undertaken by the RNLI boat from Oban.
The landing locations proposed are pictured below
Communication will be maintained with CalMac Ferries Ltd, and others as required via VHF radio throughout the day. Landings will be completed between sailings of the scheduled ferry services to avoid any disruption.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Oban Ferry Terminal within this time are requested to maintain a lookout for the lifeboat and pass at a safe distance and speed to minimise the effects of wash on the vessel.
Unless otherwise promulgated, if the NTM is still marked as ‘Active’ it remains in force.
