NTM 18/21 Asset Condition Survey Dive Projects – Update 2
Further to NTM 14/21, mariners are advised that CMAL will be conducting asset condition surveys of the facilities at the locations listed below that are operated primarily in support of lifeline ferries.
The surveys will be conducted by divers operating from either a support vessel, the structure, or the shore. Unless otherwise indicated, surveys at each location should be completed within one day.
Weather permitting, dive surveys are scheduled to be undertaken at the following locations on or about the indicated dates.
22/02/21 West Loch Tarbert, Argyll, Kennacraig Ferry terminal
22/02/21 Firth of Clyde, Kilbrannan Sound, Claonaig Ferry Slipway
25/02/21 Firth of Clyde, Isle of Arran, Brodick Ferry terminal
There will be no disruption to scheduled ferry services.
An A-Flag will always be displayed when divers are in the water. The dive supervisor will also maintain VHF communication on channels 12 and 16 and liaise with ferry masters and local port managers.
Mariners navigating on the indicated dates near to the locations listed are requested to do so with caution, regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash and stay well clear when an A flag is being displayed on the shore, structure or any vessels supporting the works.
Further NTMs will be issued as the work progresses and details can be obtained using the contact details below.
