Mariners are advised that weather permitting contractors Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys Ltd will be undertaking a hydrographic survey of the CMAL harbour area at Port Ellen, Isle of Islay.

Commencing today, the survey will be carried out from a small workboat and is scheduled to be completed within three days.

The survey team supervisor will monitor VHF Channel 16 and will liaise with the Harbour Manager and Masters of the CalMac ferries to ensure there is no disruption to timetabled ferry services.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of Port Ellen harbour during this time are advised to do so with caution, maintain a lookout for the survey vessel and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
