NTM 100/18 Brodick Ferry Terminal Old Pier Linkspan Removal – Update
Latitude | 55° 34.635’ North (WGS-84 datum) |
Longitude | 005o 8.277’ West (WGS-84 datum) |
Further to NTM 94/18, mariners are advised that on 13 November 2018, a barge will be positioned beneath the linkspan from the old pier at Brodick Ferry Terminal, Isle of Arran. The linkspan will thereafter be lifted onto the barge by the rising tide.
Weather permitting this element of the planned works is scheduled to be completed within one day.
While the barge is beneath the linkspan it is essential that all vessels navigating in the vicinity of Brodick Ferry Terminal proceed at minimum safe speed to avoid causing any wash that could cause movement of the barge during this challenging operation.
With this request in mind ferry services will continue operation as scheduled at the new pier.
The contractor’s supervisor and barge master will liaise with the CalMac Harbour Manager and will monitor VHF channels 12 and 16.
