NTM 06/19 Oban Bay Bathymetric Surveys

Mariners are advised that contractors Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys Ltd will be conducting hydrographic surveys of the following two areas within Oban Bay:

  • Corran Ledge (56° 25.169’ N 005° 29.059’ W) from the seaward extent of Argyll & Bute Council North Pier SHA to the North Channel;
  • From the MHWS at Northern Lighthouse Board Pier (56° 24.710’ N 005° 28.866’ W) seaward for a distance of approximately 100m

Surveys are planned to be undertaken from a small workboat and weather permitting works are scheduled to be undertaken from 09 January 2019 and will be completed within three days.

The survey team supervisor will monitor VHF channels 12 and 16 and will liaise with the A&BC Harbour Master and NLB Marine Operations Manager to ensure there is no disruption to harbour or facility operations.

All vessels navigating in the vicinity of these locations during the period indicated above are advised to maintain a lookout for the survey vessel and proceed with caution, regulating their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
