Mariners are advised that improvement works to the port at Scalasaig Pier, Colonsay Ferry Terminal, Isle of Colonsay to accommodate the new Islay class ferries are scheduled to commence on 20 March 2024.
Works will be ongoing for several months and during this time, except for the scheduled ferry, the pier linkspan berth will be closed to all vessels not connected with the works. In addition, there will be times when access to other parts of the port may be impeded by workboats, dredging or diving activities.
Until further notice, all vessels intending to call at the port are advised to contact ‘Colonsay Harbour’ on VHF CH 12 to enquire on the status of any temporary safety restrictions on navigation that may have been implemented. This channel will be monitored by port staff and any vessels or dive contractor engaged on the works.
When works are ongoing, all mariners navigating in the vicinity of the Colonsay Ferry Terminal are requested to do so with caution and at safe speed to minimise the effects of wash.
Unless otherwise promulgated, if this NTM is still marked as ‘Active’ it remains in force.
