Tarbert harbour is situated in the main village on the Isle of Harris. The harbour itself is quite sheltered and is centrally located for touring the Isle of Harris. It is a five-minute walk from The Isle of Harris Distillery, Isle of Harris Tweed Shop, and local bus stance.
The harbour has recently undergone a multi-million-pound upgrade, with the pier and increased marshalling area now in use. A contract was recently awarded to island firm, Lewis Builders to construct a new passenger terminal. Work is due to commence in spring this year, with a projected completion date of spring 2023.
