EXPANSION TO MARSHALLING AREA AT OBAN FERRY TERMINAL
Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL) has published an invitation to tender to expand the existing marshalling facility at Oban Ferry Terminal.
The project is the result of a two year collaboration between Transport Scotland, Network Rail and CMAL. The contract includes the expansion of the existing marshalling facility at the terminal including the removal and installation of a new railway siding line and all associated operational railway equipment. The work also includes alteration to the existing Network Rail boundary, existing surface water drainage infrastructure, road markings, road signage and kerbing.
CMAL Senior Civil Engineer, Ruairidh Campbell, said:
“This contract is part of our ongoing programme of harbour upgrades and modifications across our network to provide safe and efficient lifeline ferry services to communities around Scotland.
“This particular project will help facilitate the replacement linkspan project taking place on site next winter by providing a work space for our contractor. We hope the work will also help alleviate any queuing on the public highway during busy summer periods and benefit future projects at Oban terminal.”
The tender process is being managed through Public Contracts Scotland (PCS).
