Mariners are advised that contractors George Leslie Ltd continue repairs and reconstruction of the aligning structure at Lochaline Ferry Slipway, Morvern. The works are scheduled to conclude by April 2020.
Throughout this time scheduled ferry services will continue operation however, all vessels should be aware that throughout the period of the works a spud-leg barge will be positioned on the inside of the breakwater.
A small safety boat may also be in attendance and when required works will also involve commercial diving projects.
During any dive projects, the contractor’s supervisor and any dive supervisor will liaise with the CalMac Harbour Manager and ferry Master and will monitor VHF channels 12 and 16. At all relevant times when diving operations are ongoing Flag A will be displayed.
Until further notification informing harbour users that works have concluded mariners navigating near to Lochaline Ferry Slipway are advised to maintain a look-out for workboats and any A Flag being displayed, maintain a safe distance and pass at minimum speed to reduce vessel wash
