Latitude | 55° 34.636’ North (WGS-84 datum) |
Longitude | 005o 8.281’ West (WGS-84 datum) |
Mariners are advised that from 25 October 2018, contractors George Leslie Ltd will commence preparations to remove the linkspan from the old pier at Brodick Ferry Terminal, Isle of Arran. Weather permitting planned works will conclude by 23 November 2018.
The works will be primarily undertaken from the old pier and linkspan dolphins with a barge in attendance from 13 November to remove the linkspan.
During this time, a small safety boat may also be in attendance and when required works will involve commercial diving projects.
Scheduled ferry services will continue operation as scheduled at the new pier.
The contractor’s supervisor and any dive supervisor will liaise with the CalMac Harbour Manager and will monitor VHF channels 12 and 16. At all relevant times when diving operations are ongoing Flag A will be displayed.
During the period of works mariners navigating near to Brodick Ferry Terminal old pier are advised to maintain a look-out for workboats and any A Flag being displayed, maintain a safe distance and pass at minimum speed to reduce vessel wash.
With reference to NTM 41/18, mariners are also reminded the old pier remains closed to berthing to all vessels not connected with the works.
