NTM 83/21 Linkspan Inspection Works – Various Ferry Terminals
Mariners are advised that weather permitting condition surveys of the linkspan structures at the undernoted ferry terminals within the Inner Hebrides and Argyll will be undertaken on or about the indicated dates.
30/11/21 Port Ellen Ferry Terminal Pier, Loch Leodamais, Isle of Islay
01/12/21 Kennacraig Ferry Terminal Pier, West Loch Tarbert, Argyll
02/12/21 Colonsay Ferry Terminal Pier, Scalasaig, Isle of Colonsay
Engineers will be operating from the linkspan and a small workboat that at times may be out of sight beneath the structure. The workboat coxswain will liaise with the Harbour Manager and ferry masters to ensure there is no disruption to scheduled ferry services. VHF channels 12 and 16 will also be monitored and each inspection is scheduled to be completed within one day.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of the listed ferry terminals on the indicated dates are advised to maintain a look-out for the workboat, proceed with caution and regulate their speed to minimise the effects of wash accordingly.
