NTM 70-19 TARBERT (HARRIS) FERRY TERMINAL HARBOUR RECONSTRUCTION WORKS – UPDATE

With reference to NTM 53/19, mariners are advised that the capital dredging component of the project within the inner harbour and linkspan berthing area has now commenced and will last until the end of March 2020.
The vessels involved in this operation are a dredge barge plus up to 2 hopper barges and a tug who will maintain a radio watch on channels 12 and 16. It should be noted, weather permitting the tug and barges will be transiting daily from East Loch Tarbert to the disposal ground at Arnish, Stornoway.
During these works scheduled ferry services will continue operation however, pier access by other vessels will be restricted and only permitted by prior arrangement with the CalMac Ferries Ltd Port Manager in liaison with the works supervisor and tug master.
As works progress additional information will be issued to mariners in subsequent NTM updates.
