NTM 22/24 Castlebay and Lochboisdale Marine Survey
BATHYMETRIC SURVEYS
Mariners are advised that on or about 18TH June 2024, surveyors Aspect Land & Hydrographic Surveys will be undertaking high-resolution bathymetric surveys of areas around the harbours of Castlebay and Lochboisdale
Weather permitting the work is expected to be completed within one week. The work will be undertaken from survey vessel Coastal Sensor II.
Communication will be maintained with CalMac Ferries Ltd, and others as required via VHF radio throughout all survey works. Surveys will be completed between sailings of the scheduled ferry services to avoid any disruption.
All vessels navigating in the vicinity of either Castlebay Ferry Terminal or Lochboisdale Ferry Terminal during this time are requested to maintain a lookout for the survey vessel and pass at a safe distance and speed to minimise the effects of wash on the vessel.
Unless otherwise promulgated, if the NTM is still marked as ‘Active’ it remains in force.
