Freedom of Information
As a company wholly owned by the Scottish Ministers, Caledonian Maritime Assets Ltd (“CMAL”) is a public authority under the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002. From 1 January 2005, any information held by CMAL is accessible by the public on written request, subject to certain limited exemptions. Classes of information routinely made available by CMAL are listed in the CMAL Publication Scheme. - Services provided
- Cost of those services
- Standard attained by those services
- Facts which form the basis of decisions taken
- Importance to the public
- Publication of reasons for decisions made
As part of CMAL’s ongoing commitment to openness and transparency, the publication scheme will be periodically reviewed. Your comments are welcome and will help revise and update our scheme.

How to make a request.
Requests for information not listed in the Publication Scheme must be made in writing, detailing the information sought and giving an address for the response. Email communication is also acceptable:

Please mark any requests for information “FOR THE ATTENTION OF THE CORPORATE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION OFFICER”.
Requests will be dealt with as quickly as possible and within the Freedom of Information (Scotland) Act 2002’s statutory timescales. If a fee is payable, applicants will be notified of this in advance as payment will be required before a response is provided.

Disclosure of Names/Salary Details of Members of the Senior Management Team
Scottish Ministers have asked each Scottish NDPB and Public Corporation to publish the names (where consented and appropriate), position and salary of senior staff.
In line with this requirement and as at 30 June 2022 the following information applies;
